The Initiative for Sustainable Energy Policy (ISEP) has partnered with The Climate Group  and The Governors’ Climate and Forests Task Force  to initiate a framework for states and regions in the Under2 Coalition, for which The Climate Group acts as Secretariat, outlining approaches and best practices to developing long-term deep decarbonization pathways. ISEP will provide a set of recommendations based on existing research conducted by ISEP’s Founding Director Johannes Urpelainen and ISEP Fellows Narayan Gopinathan and Narayan Subramanian.

Long-term deep decarbonization pathways are essential for jurisdictions across the world as they seek to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with the temperature goals enshrined in the Paris Agreement. “This is precisely the type of interdisciplinary collaboration that ISEP prides itself in. It will shape how climate policymaking is done for years to come,” says Urpelainen.
