Sonakshi Saluja is the India Program Manager at ISEP. In the past 7 years of her work experience, she has been an active advocate for better research initiatives in the field of sustainable and renewable energy, air pollution, WASH, education, gender, and livelihood in the states of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand, and Nagaland among others in India.
At ISEP, Sonakshi works directly with the Founding Director, Prof Johannes Urpelainen. Her work involves rigorous research, managing and coordinating end-to-end surveys, team management, enumerator trainings, and ensuring quality control. She is also involved in establishing and sustaining relationships with national and international donors, government officials, and civil society organizations.
Prior to ISEP, Sonakshi worked at Dharma Life as a Manager (Research) in collaboration with London Business School and London School of Economics to assess the outcomes of clean energy, indoor air pollution, and WASH (including menstrual hygiene) interventions on women entrepreneurs to analyse gender specific behavioural change. Sonakshi has also worked as a Research Associate at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) where she worked closely with diverse socio-economic communities on various developmental projects involving economic data analysis using tools such as MS Excel and STATA and also monitoring survey teams, formulating survey methodology and questionnaires, contributing to chapter writings, organizing consultation workshops, and coordinating courses with various government agencies and private firms.
She has a Masters in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and a Bachelors in Economics from University of Delhi in India.
