Bishnu Charan Parida is a senior development management professional having 25 years of full time experience working in the UN, development sector, and government agencies. Presently he is working as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) under the Department of Rural Development, Government of Jharkhand). Mr Parida is based out of Ranchi in the state of Jharkhand, India.
He had earlier worked as the Deputy CEO, State Society for Ultra Poor and Social Welfare-SSUPSW under the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Bihar; as State Project Officer (SPO) Jharkhand in UNDP; as Team Leader, PRADAN (Professional Assistance for Development Action) in Odisha and Jharkhand, and Educational Trainee under the Regional Science Centre (National Council of Science Museum) in Odisha, Government of India .
He has been a gold medalist topper in his class of MRM (M. Phil) in Natural Resource Management from Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal in 2005. He did Master of Social Work (MSW) from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan in 1995 and did his B.Sc. (Physics Honours) from Utkal University, Odisha in 1991. He completed a 6-months eMDP satellite based course on “Senior Leadership Programme (SLP)” from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode. Presently, he is pursuing Ph.D. in Management from ICFAI University, Jharkhand.
