Chuyu Liu is a postdoctoral fellow at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He concentrates on ethnic conflict, the political economy of development, and East Asian security. Before joining the SAIS faculty, he obtained his doctorate in Political Science from the Pennsylvania State University.
His current research analyzes political economy of China’s Belt and Road Initiative. My research is published or forthcoming in Energy Policy, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of East Asian Studies, Security Studies, and The China Review.
As ISEP, Chuyu seeks to contribute theoretically grounded research on topics of policy relevance, such as China’s investments in the global energy sector.
