Marta Talevi

Marta Talevi is a PhD Candidate in Environmental Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and recipient of a UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) scholarship.

Marta uses applied microeconomic methods in combination with household-level surveys and geospatial and administrative datasets to answer policy-relevant questions at the intersection of environment, energy and development economics.

Her research focuses on:

  • – Effectiveness of energy decarbonization policies;
  • – Energy access: demand for electrification and clean cookstoves, and private and social benefits of their adoption;
  • – The role of social learning and experiential learning in technology uptake;
  • – Energy economics of refugee settlements in Sub-Saharan Africa.
