Santosh Kumar Sahu is Assistant Professor of Economics at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras, Chennai. He completed his doctoral research at IIT Bombay. During his doctoral research, he studied patterns of energy consumption in the industrial sector of India.
His research interests lie in the areas of applied energy economics; industrial ecology and applied microeconomics. He concentrates on issues of energy efficiency, energy policy and economics of pollution. Currently, he is working on energy efficiency, pollution and productivity in the manufacturing sector of India. His work has appeared in Journal of Energy and Development; Journal of Industry, Competition and Trade; The Singapore Economic Review; Journal of Economic Studies; Journal of Quantitative Economics; Studies in Microeconomics and Current Science.
He seeks to contribute to ISEP by engaging in policy-relevant empirical research in the areas of energy efficiency, energy policy and economic analysis of externalities.
