ISEP Goes Indonesia: A Partnership with Electric Vine Industries on Clean Energy and Mobile Money

The Initiative for Sustainable Energy Policy (ISEP) has partnered with Electric Vine Industries to assess the benefits of combining clean energy access with mobile money in Indonesia. ISEP will support the company’s research on how the use of mobile money, enabled by access to solar power, benefits villagers and enhances rural development. ISEP works with Electric Vine Industries in remote rural communities in Sumba, an island in eastern Indonesia.

“This project is a great example of how ISEP works,” says Founding Director Johannes Urpelainen. “Electric Vine Industries has an excellent track record with clean energy access, and combining their solution with mobile money creates new opportunities for financial inclusion. ISEP helps the company understand the social and economic benefits of this approach.”
