ISEP Announces a World Bank Collaboration on Renewable Energy Auctions
The Initiative for Sustainable Energy Policy (ISEP) will work with World Bank researchers to evaluate the subsidies built into winning bids from renewable energy auctions. Conducted in the first half of 2019, the project will enable graduate students at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies to gain substantial experience with policy-relevant research.
“This project is an important milestone for ISEP,” says Professor Johannes Urpelainen, the Founding Director of ISEP. “First, it address a key data gap in renewable energy policy: what is be the subsidy-free cost of renewable power generation? Second, it creates a great experiential learning opportunity for our graduate students.”
