Anjali Sharma

Anjali is a PhD student at the School of Policy in the University of Maryland, College Park. She is interested in exploring the social and economic impacts of low-carbon transitions, and what constitutes “just” transitions. For her PhD thesis, she is looking at the employment impacts of large-scale deployment of renewable energy technologies.

She is also interested in working on energy access, and energy-development linkages. She has done case studies to understand the productive uses of electricity in rural India, and has also worked on questions of cooking energy access in India.

She holds a BSc (Honors) in Mathematics, and a MSc in Climate Change and Sustainability Studies from India. At ISEP, she is working on the perceptions and usage of mini-grids in the states of UP and Bihar in India.
