Jennifer Richmond

Jennifer Richmond is a PhD student in Public Policy at the University of Maryland, College Park. Her research is broadly situated at the intersection of environment and development, and focuses more specifically on energy access, distributed service delivery, and geospatial modeling.

She worked previously as a research assistant at the Center for Global Development where she helped to implement a large-scale randomized controlled trial for citizen deliberation on the uses of natural gas revenue in East Africa. She also contributed to various research initiatives on topics including solar panel distribution in India, coal extraction and public health interactions in India, and energy subsidy reform in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Jennifer holds an MA in Global Environmental Policy from American University and a BS in Political Science from Shepherd University. As an ISEP fellow, she is exploring the impact of different interventions on appliance adoption and energy usage in rural India.
